MDT and Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) are proud partners in TCO Minneapolis – Therapy, TCO’s first dedicated Dance Medicine clinic, located within MDT’s home in Northeast Minneapolis.
The clinic serves the entire Twin Cities dance community, offering specialized physical therapy and sports medicine care designed specifically for dancers.

TCO Dance Medicine is open to the entire dance community, with MDT dancers receiving complimentary 15-minute physical therapy consults as needed during the week. Led by TCO Dance Medicine specialists Dr. Brad R. Moser and Physical Therapist Maryann Johnson, the clinic improves access to specialized care and promotes injury prevention, strength training, conditioning, and physical therapy as essential components of dance training.
Maryann Johnson, PT
Maryann Johnson, PT, is an orthopedic physical therapist specializing in Dance Medicine, Manual Therapy, and Postural Restoration. A classically trained ballet dancer, performer, and master teacher, she brings a unique understanding of dance technique, movement, and alignment to her clinical practice.
Maryann received her classical ballet training in the Twin Cities from Lorand and Anna Andaházy and Jo Savino, renowned dancers from Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. She has attended summer intensives at San Francisco Ballet, Ballet West, and Joffrey NYC, and also attended Pennsylvania Ballet’s year-round program. Professionally, Maryann danced as a founding member of Ballet of the Dolls for more than twenty years. In addition to performing, Maryann has taught for many dance schools in the Twin Cities area.
In addition to her physical therapy work, Maryann is also a frequent lecturer on dancer health and performance. She enjoys treating dancers of all ages and levels, with a special interest in foot and ankle rehabilitation and whole-body movement optimization.
