Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Hassan began his formal dance training at New World School of the Arts before taking his artistry to New York City, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Juilliard School. In 2011, he joined TU Dance, spending five years with the company and building a rich performance career rooted in versatility, curiosity, and a commitment to artistic excellence.

Since then, Hassan has continued to move across creative spaces and communities, working as a guest artist with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance, Peter London Global Dance Company, The Penumbra Theater, and, most recently, StrongMovement. His work as a performer has been recognized beyond the stage as well. In 2021, Hassan received the McKnight Fellowship Award, earning recognition as an “Artist to Watch.”

As a passionate educator, he is dedicated to helping dancers discover not only how to move, but why they move. Hassan currently serves on the faculty at Minnesota Dance Theatre as a ballet instructor and teaches ballet and modern at The School at TU Dance.

Drawing from his years as both a performer and educator, Hassan brings a fresh, contemporary lens to his pedagogy. His classes invite dancers to step outside the expected, challenge their limitations, and embrace curiosity. He encourages them to take risks, explore new possibilities, and find the individuality within their movement.

At the heart of Hassan’s teaching is a simple belief: technique gives dancers the tools, but artistic expression gives them a voice. His goal is to help every dancer discover that voice—and have the courage to let it move.
