MDT is thrilled to collaborate with Lakes Area Music Festival this summer, bringing internationally acclaimed dancers from American Ballet Theatre to the festival’s annual gala in Brainerd, MN. Don’t miss the world premiere of a newly commissioned work choreographed by rising ABT choreographer Melvin Lawovi, set to Invierno Porteño by Astor Piazzolla.

MDT’s The Nutcracker Suite


We are thrilled to share the very exciting news that MDT will be producing its first-ever The Nutcracker Suite in 2026!


The Nutcracker Suite will offer roles to all students ages 4–18 enrolled in the Primary and Upper Division. Internationally renowned choreographers include Gemma Bond’s brand new Waltz of the Flowers, Brady Farrar’s Waltz of the Snowflakes, Darrius Strong’s Arabian, and many more.
